Theatre of Shadows MUSH - OWoD MUSH Seeks Staff/Development Input

Theatre of Shadows MUSH is an in-development Old World of Darkness MUSH set in the modern nights, with two planned venues: Vampire the Masquerade and Mortals. Set in an original port city in northern California, the MUSH plans to give equal attention to both the Mortal and Vampire Venues, starting with the Vampire Venue while we build up the specifics for the Mortal Venue (or starting with both if Mortals is finalized/finished when we're ready to open). Within all the venues, we plan to draw inspiration from a number of sources, primarily the themes and stylings of Vampire the Masquerade, but also such media as The Vampire Chronicles, Dark Shadows, American Gothic, Fringe, Forever Knight, Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel and others. We will be endeavoring to create a world that focuses on two primary elements: gothic horror and supernatural intrigue, though these won't be the only stories to be told, not by far.

Blood of Dragons is set in the low-magic, medieval-inspired fantasy world of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire (and the HBO series Game of Thrones). Knowledge of the books is helpful but not required for players with some MU*ing experience and the game's website is continuously being expanded with more resources. Blood of Dragons is the only MUSH operated with the approval of George R.R. Martin and its owners have recently published a book together with him, The World of Ice and Fire.

The game takes place 140 years prior to the start of the first book, A Game of Thrones. King Baelor I Targaryen, who will be known to history as Baelor the Blessed, sits the Iron Throne, his rule growing ever more erratic as time passes. Dorne, once again an independent realm, is also experiencing internal problems as Prince Marence Nymeros Martell has been rendered incapable of ruling following an attempt to poison him. There is talk of a Regent being needed, but his two brothers are not in agreement on who it should be.

This choice of time period allows players to explore a less defined period in the history of Westeros while still experiencing how past events referenced in the books (in some cases in yet-to-be-published books) may have played out. The roleplay is focused on the political and social interactions at the courts of King's Landing and Sunspear, with players taking up characters from various noble households. Players have a choice between CGing a character themselves or taking up a previously played, fully pre-generated role. Choose the latter option and you can often be ready to roleplay within minutes.

Blood of Dragons is focused on offering high-quality roleplay in a rich, immersive setting with a strong sense of history and continuity and we strive to be approachable and helpful. If you find yourself interested in the game, the following links provide some good starting points:

Game of Bones

Utrum fiat tibi gaudium aut dolor, iterum talos iace.
Whether you get joy or pain, roll the bones again.

Game of Bones is based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels and the Game of Thrones television program. Game of Bones is running on PennMUSH and uses the FS3 stat and dice system.

The game is set over a hundred and seventy years before the books and series begin. This is about ten years before the civil war known as 'The Dance of the Dragons', during the time of the reign of King Viserys Targaryen I. This is a low-magic setting, but dragons and the magic they bring to the world are still very much alive.

We attempt to follow the themes and settings of the books more than those of the HBO series. However, you don't need to have read them. A passing familiarity with the show should be enough to allow you to play. Great allowance is given to a wide range of character concepts from urchin to prince (With the exception of Dragonlords)! Players are very much a part of activity in plot conception, development, and execution. Join us and our story to make a character and stake out your own position in the history of Westeros.

This is an R-rated game. To play, you must be an adult according to the laws of the country from which you are connecting.

Game of Bones has suffered a pretty significant summer slump, and is planning some new things to take off again. We also welcome and encourage player-run-plots, so there's always something going on -- even now, in this low connect period, we've got poisoned fabric, an elaborate murder mystery, a 'ghost'? ship, and some creepy political machinations going on.

The Devil's Kin: Marvel 1866

Address: devilkin.kydance.net:9666
Website: http://devilskin.wikidot.com/

In the 1860s, the "wild" west was well on its way to being civilized by Manifest Destiny, but there were many parts of the country that remained formerly unclaimed by this principle. To these areas, many began to flock for their chance at opportunity or a fresh start.

Rumors of people with special abilities were all over the world, but in the American territories especially, those rumors were most active in the west. People known as "Devilkin" were said to do amazing things, such as lifting objects without touching them, turning into great beasts or even causing lakes to freeze over. Several witch hunts in the east, instigated by a force known only as the Marauders, may have sent these people running for the untamed western territories where mankind's laws wouldn't touch them. Unfortunately, man's laws were quick on their heels.

The Devil's Kin is a Marvel Comic MUSH based in the late 1800s, just after the end of the Civil War. Come try your hand at a Marvel character in a different era!

NYC MUSH: Veil of Shadows

NYC: Veil of Shadows

: nycmush.net: 4228
Website: http://www.nycmush.net

There is another world beyond our own. Veiled in secrecy and hidden behind the Shadows. It's the world of the supernatural where magic is real, those scary things that go bump in the night truly do exist, and monsters under the bed aren't just children's stories.

Many are a part of this world. Sons and daughters born to werewolves or witches or sorcerers; taught from an early age to manage and understand their uniqueness and place in the world. Some come to it by choice, seeking out immortality in the deadly bite of a vampire; others, by force, chancing upon a werewolf during the full moon or a bitter, mocking vampire.

There are those who are not supernatural, but grow up with or stumble across the knowledge of the supernatural. They understand that the howls at night might just be those of a werewolf, rather than a lonely dog. They take their nights out with caution because that body grinding against theirs may just be looking for a place to sink fangs.

Most are oblivious. Going about their every day lives without knowing that families of magical power and bloodlines are responsible for brokering deals in elite corporate boardrooms. They are unaware that the neo-pagan bookstore is owned by a witch of true power.

Which are you?

X-Men: rEvolution MUSH

Address: xmenrevolution.com:7717
Site: http://xmenrevolution.com

Five decades ago, mutants were barely heard of. Four decades ago, rumours of people with superhuman powers were spoken of in hushed whispers, tabloid scares, superstitious warnings. Then the scientific research of Dr. Moira MacTaggart published out of Muir Island rocketed the knowledge of the X-Gene into scientific fact, and mutants were pushed from whispered rumour into a household word. Not, to be sure, a welcome household word. As the buzz spread, from nation to nation, continent to continent, countries were widely conflicted on how to deal with the mutant issue. Issue, problem, menace, even the language used to talk about mutants was telling. While a select minority saw them as the next stage of human evolution, a growing and vocal majority called mutants a problem, a danger, a threat to the very existence of society.

New York City has long been a cultural hub -- of America and of the world. When it comes to mutants it is no different. In a city of millions of diverse people, it is easy -- or, at least, easier -- for a feared and hated minority to have a chance at blending in. From all over the world mutants have flocked to the city, hoping for a chance at a normal life. In the wake of Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants’ recent attack at Liberty Island, though, that blending in is getting harder. Anti-mutant sentiment is reaching a fever pitch. While most mutants -- and most humans -- just want to keep their heads down and live a quiet life, there are those on both sides of the fight gearing up for what they see as an enormous threat to their way of life.

Where will you stand when the revolution hits?

X-Men rEvolution is an X-Men Movieverse MUSH set in contemporary New York City, shortly after the events of the first X-Men movie. With a movieverse backdrop, we both come unencumbered with years of convoluted comics canon, and also a slightly more real-world feel to the setting. Only slightly, though: we’re still running around New York playing mutants with superpowers; just without the aliens and magic.

Set just after Magneto’s failed attack on the city, the New York of rEvolution is a city that is shifting towards the darker edge of the spectrum, especially when it comes to life for mutants. With a game geared away from the highest edges of power ranges, we’re looking to explore not just the interactions between superpowers and combat, but the interplay between human nature, social justice, and a city where one wrong interaction could push it over the edge.

FNAF - Foxy

Looking for a game.

Hi there!

I'm looking for an active MUCK to play on where I can play a vampire of my own species. He's a well established character elsewhere, but, his usual haunts aren't very RP oriented anymore, so, I'm looking for a nice home for him.

I'm looking for an RP centric MUCK that allows for vampires, but isn't vampire centric (WoD for Example)

Welcome to New York City

The city that doesn’t sleep. To the untrained eye it is a bustling mecca of people and energy, lights and sounds and smells. It’s a perpetually in motion metropolis where businesses rise and fall, careers are made and broken, and there is always something for everyone from tourist to resident.

Beneath that glitzy veneer, however, lies an unseen world. This is the world where those with the power to channel it heal themselves, call upon fire or make the ground break. In this world, there is a man listening to the thoughts of those around him on the subway, there is a woman moving objects without using her hands. When the sun sets, a woman rises from the shadows taking refuge in the beauty of the night to feed upon the blood of the unsuspecting. As the moon rises full in the sky a man takes refuge in Central Park and one might hear howls at the sky.

This is New York behind the Veil of Shadows. Welcome to a place where the supernatural flourishes in the modern world. New York: Veil of Shadows is a modern fantasy/horror MUSH that borrows loosely from a variety of media outlets to create an entirely new supernatural realm. It is a world where vampires do business in skyscrapers or back alleys, a world where ghosts wander the streets and haunt places old and new, where werewolves run in packs and witches and warlocks pass on their craft to the next worthy generation. It is a place of magic and suspense, filled with intrigue and colored by myth and legend.

Come, create a character and take your place behind The Veil of Shadows.

NYC: Veil of Shadows is a dark fantasy/horror/supernatual themed MUSH that is currently seeking new players. This is not a combat or class based system, but a MUSH that focuses on story-telling and role-playing. We're really looking for enthusiastic, interested role-players.

Many races and character concepts are available, and the world is still small (but growing.)

Ansible MOO

It is the 23rd century, and Mankind is not alone.

90 years ago, in the midst of World War Three, the Formics, better known as the Buggers, attacked Earth.

The first invasion, humans fought off by sheer attrition.

A generation later came the second invasion, and this time they won only because of one man: Mazer Rackham.

If they come again, humanity's defense would need many Rackhams.

The Battle School exists to find these new saviors of mankind.

Every 6 months, twenty of the Earth's most brilliant six-year-olds launch into space, bound for this school positioned in an undisclosed location.

There, they join other children, and train in the nuances of zero-gravity combat through classes and games - the heart of which is the Battleroom.

The training is unceasing, for the fate of the world rests upon small shoulders.

Ansible MOO is an online roleplaying game, a MOO, set in the universe of the Orson Scott Card novel "Ender's Game", ten years prior to the events of the novel. With over a decade in existence and such features as a coded simulation of the battleroom to enhance the RP experience, Ansible continuously seeks new players ready to add their stories to the ongoing story of the Battle School.
